Michael Flanagan is a filmmaker from McAllen, TX. Michael works as a Project Manager for the River Pierce Foundation, covers Texas visual art for Glasstire.com, and has taught courses in Media Arts at the University of North Texas. His films have been screened internationally at spaces including the Buffalo AKG Art Museum in New York, the Laemmle Theater in Los Angeles, Cadogan Contemporary in London, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Breaking the Code, his feature-length documentary on artist Vernon Fisher, won the award for Best Historical Film at the 2023 Dallas International Film Festival and was broadcast by PBS on "Frame of Mind".
